David Michael Timmerman, 53, died peacefully surrounded by family at his home on Wednesday, March 2, 2011.
He was born on May 19, 1957 in Gettysburg. David was the beloved son of Catherine Timmerman Young, the late Joseph H. Timmerman and the step-son of the late Leon C. Young. He was the brother of June Dick of Gettysburg, Debra Sites of Carroll Valley, Beverly Hess of Hanover, Christine Dillon of Biglerville, Matt Young of Gettysburg, and Vincent Young of Gettysburg. He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Timmerman.
David will forever be remembered by his devoted wife, Andrea L. Timmerman; son, Joseph W. Timmerman of Pittsburgh; daughter, Jessica M. Dedrick and husband Justin of York; three step-children, Erin White, Ryan Turner and Tracy Bennett; his many grandchildren, Aubree, Natalie, Mason, Brynlee, Brody, Jayden, Ezra, Asher and Tobias; along with countless other friends and family who were blessed to know him.
David was the owner of Timmerman Masonry and Timmerman Self Storage. In retirement, he enjoyed delivering newspapers for the Gettysburg Times and The Frederick News Post.
He was a member of the Builders Association of Adams County and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1562.
David enjoyed spending countless hours with his grandchildren, along with motorcycle rides, pool, hunting and poker games with friends.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial celebration on Thursday, May 19, at 4 p.m. at Greenmount Fire Hall in Gettysburg.
The family requests that donations can be made in David's name to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 3300 E. Sunrise Drive, Tucson, AZ 85178 and Adams County Cancer Patient Help Fund, 147 Getty St., P.O. Box 3995, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
