Luther Leon Gardner, 82, of Trout, passed from this life on Monday, April 6, 2015, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Pineville.
He was born June 15, 1932 in Forest, Mississippi, to the union of his parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Hall Gardner.
Mr. Gardner was a retired police officer, and served his country in the United States Navy.
Services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 9, at Zenoria Baptist Church with Rev. Joel Johnson officiating.
Interment followed in the Chalk Hill Cemetery in the Little Creek Community under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Erma Gardner; sisters, Levern Skinner and Wyvonne Briscoe; and brother, Billy Gardner.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ruth DeVaux Gardner; three daughters, Caroline Lewis and husband Jack, Elizabeth and husband and Gloria and husband; three sons, David Hearon and wife Angela, Edward Hearon and wife Nicole, and Manuel Gardner; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
