MORRIS — Ruth passed away on Sept. 4, 2013.
She was born in Patchogue in 1912, to the late Jules and Anna Marie (Bourke) Esser. The oldest of five children, she was predeceased by all of her siblings.
She was married to Allen Stryker in Sayville, where she lived most of her life. Ruth worked for Bell Telephone for many years until her retirement.
She relocated to the Oneonta area in 1999, to be closer to her daughter, Joyce Foote, who predeceased her in 2009. She was also predeceased in 1994, by her son-in-law, Donald Foote.
She is survived by her two granddaughters and their husbands; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held privately at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff of Valley View Manor Nursing Home,Norwich for the years of care given to “Ruthie.”
