John was born in Clifton, NJ, and at the age of 18, joined the Navy, and set off to see the world. He met his love, Lillian, in 1960, and they began their life of love, happiness and joy. After a 20 year Naval career, he retired as a CPO. He then began his second career at Federal Express as a jet mechanic and retired from there as a Maintenance Planner.
John was a very loving, kind, and generous man. His character, wisdom, and strength will be remembered by so many. He loved to travel, and was always planning his next adventure.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr and Elizabeth Coffey of Clifton, NJ, sister Clare Mary, and stepson Fall Taylor. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Lillian, daughters Connie Prudhomme (Jim), Nina Dennington (Mark). His grandchildren Brian, Michael, Natalie, Fall Jr and Austin. Great Grandchildren Lillian Grace and Fall.
Visitation will be Friday, December 20 from 5-8 p.m., with funeral services on Saturday December 21 at 2 pm at Memphis Funeral Home on North Germantown Parkway. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Epilepsy Foundation or the Smile Train Foundation.
