Born Joyce Mae Hatch on October 21, 1928 in Bellingham to Charles "Bert" and Ruth Hatch, she attended Bellingham High school and graduated from Mt. Baker High in 1947.
Joyce married Edward Alderson June 23, 1956. She enjoyed ceramics, drawing, reading, animals and music. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Joyce was preceded in death by parents Charles "Bert" and Ruth Hatch and her niece Katie (Olson) Day.
Joyce is survived by husband Edward of 50 years; sons, Greg (Lisa) of Ferndale and Steve (Tami) of Bellingham; sisters, Karen (Don) Olson of Bellingham and Sandra (Bob) Penny of Arlington; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; two nephews; one niece; and many other relatives.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Family Church, 4600 Guide Meridian (corner of Guide and Horton) in Bellingham, with Pastor George Mead officiating.
The family would like to thank our Dad, Henrietta, Kelli, and Barb for the past several years for the loving care they gave Mom in the battle of Dementia, "you are angels and a gift from God".
