JUDGE Thomas Ashby Farrow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas F. Farrow, died Wednesday in a Seattle hospital. He was born in Charleston on December 16, 1954, educated in local schools, graduated from Colorado College and received his law degree from the University of Puget Sound. Until his death he served as District Judge of Pierce County, Washington. He is survived by his parents; his wife, the former Lori Merlich of Gig Harbor, Wash.; three sons, Thomas G., Michael F., and Joseph P. Farrow; four brothers, John B. Farrow of Atlanta, Douglas F. Farrow of Gillette, Wyo., Robert H. Farrow of Charleston, and Alexander Q. Farrow of San Francisco.

Gig Harbor District Court Judge Tom Farrow died April 3 at the age of 47 after the ravages of HCV took their toll. Farrow believed he contracted the disease after getting a tattoo with a contaminated needle about 20 years ago, before doctors even knew exactly what hepatitis C was.

Tom was a very laid back person he was a judge in Gig Harbor Washington. He was a friend of my sister and mine. He loved his boys and his wife Laura. He liked the Batman movies, and Baskin Robbins Ice cream, where he took his boys. He enjoyed going to state fair in Washington every year and riding the scary rides and eating the fair food like scones with jam. Tom enjoyed the things in life that most people take for granted. Tom had hepatitis and it ruined his liver and he did receive a liver transplant, but hepatitis ruined the 2nd liver also. Too bad cause I thought the world was a little nicer with him, so did his 3 boys and wife Laura. Now he is with Jesus.
