Adam J. Baumert, 23, died Wednesday, August 8, 2012 from injuries sustained in an accident on Interstate 80. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Grandview Park Funeral Home in Des Moines where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Adam was born December 2, 1988 to Shelley Baumert and Randy Thompson in Des Moines. He attended Metro High School in Cedar Rapids and worked for Daughenbaugh Construction. Adam was passionate about his music, enjoyed eating Reece's Peanut Butter Cups and drinking Arnold Palmers, but most of all loved spending time with his family, friends and his dog, Hendrix.

Survivors include his mother, Shelley (Dennis Kane) Baumert; father, Randy (Diane) Thompson; the love of his life, Carla Levy; his daughters: Jordynn (age 6) and Jaydynn (age 3); grandparents: Sharon and Dale Thompson, Connie and Larry Baumert; mother in law, Jackie Spinler; siblings: Chad Thompson, Nova Cline, Bryce Bailey, Jessica Walker, Dusty Walker, Lacretia Levy, Andrea Levy, Crystal Busick, Ripley Cline, Lindsay Heinrich, Kourtney Kane, Nicole Murray; aunts and uncles: Dottie Thompson, Tammy Ewing, Jennie Shipley, Brian (Clyde) Baumert, LeAnn Williams; and many friends. Adam was preceded in death by his aunt Shelley.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Adam Baumert Memorial Fund at Wells Fargo Banks to be used for his daughters' future needs.
