Charles Roger Bergman
(April 20, 1946 - January 11, 2013)

Chuck Bergman, 66, passed from this life on Friday, January 11, 2013 in Des Moines. Chuck was born April 20, 1946, in Des Moines Iowa. He was a graduate of North High School and received degrees from Iowa State University and Central Missouri State University where he was a member of Phi Sigma Epsilon. In 1971 he married his wife, Cathy Cook. Chuck worked as an architect in Des Moines and was involved in many civil and commercial projects throughout the community. He was also very involved in children's sports and coached for many years with the Catholic Football League and Beaverdale Little League. Most recently Chuck worked as an architect for the Iowa Department of Transportation. He is survived by his wife, Cathy; children, Ryan (Laura), Colleen (Chris) Murphy and Mike (Jessie) of Des Moines, and Amy (Damon) Walker of Santa Cruz, CA; brothers, Bruce (Barb) of Des Moines, and Kirk (Ann Marie) of Louisville, KY; and sister, Tricia of Des Moines. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cletus and Louise Bergman of Des Moines. Visitation will be from 4:30 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2926 Beaver Avenue, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Funeral mass will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity.
