|Death: ||Jul. 10, 1943|
Pfc David Eisman was a soldier in the 2691 Signal AirWarning (AW) Battalion and was killed in action near Gela in Sicily. He was first buried in a fieldgrave behind the invasion beaches. On 19 September 1943 Private First Class Eisman was reburied in the temporary American GELA Cemetery in grave H-89-1062. After the war his remains were repatriated and buried in the Furbound Cemetery in Rosedale, Maryland.
Over 1,200 men and women were buried in the GELA Cemetery between July 1943 and 1947. I am writing a book about this cemetery and hope to finish it next year (2013).
