Virginia Inez "Nezzi" Rambeau, 87, of Las Vegas, passed away Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005. She was born Feb. 4, 1919, in Kennedy, Texas, and resided in Las Vegas for 45 years. Nezzi's industry affiliations include: Meeting Professionals International, Society of
Government Meeting Professionals, HSMAI (Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International), ASAE (American Society of
Association Executives), Southern California Chapter of Meeting Professionals International, and the Las Vegas Hospitality Association.
In June of 2002, she was honored with the Past Presidents Award by SCCMPI - the first time this award was given to a member outside the state of California. She began her career at the Riviera in the late 60's where she became the first woman director of sales in the city. Her
career spanned over 40 years when she retired from the Imperial Palace in April 2003 at the age of 84. She was devoted to and active in the
Super Summer Theatre organization. Nezzi was preceded in death by her loving sister, Bell Brown; her devoted son, Sam Bass; and niece,
Molly Butler. She is survived by her niece, Laura Brown; great nephews and nieces, Curtis Brown and Robin (Brown) Gullo of Las Vegas, Michael Butler and Bonnie Schwank of California; and great great niece and nephews, Jake and Shelby Gullo of Boulder City, and Ashley and Shannon Butler of Sacramento, Calif. The celebration of her extraordinary life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. A gathering of her friends and family will be at the home of Laura and Jim Brown immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the name of
