Benson - Norma E. Newman, 81, of New Port Richey, Fla., formerly of Benson and Peoria, died May 14, 1999, at Hernando Pasco Hospice House in Port Richey, Fla.
Her memorial service was held May 17 at Christian Fellowship Church, Largo, Fla., with her son, the Rev. Terry Newman officiating. She was cremated. Dignified Funeral Alternatives, New Port Richey, had charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Newman was born Jan. 3, 1918, at Benson, a daughter of John and Pearl Oltman. She married Leroy E. Newman on Oct. 25, 1939, at Benson. He died Feb. 10, 1997.
Survivors include a son, the Rev. Terry J. (Suzanne) Newman, Largo, Fla.; a brother, Ray Oltman, Minonk; three sisters, Fanny Hupprich, Morton; Rachel Seggerman, Chenoa; and Patricia Dalziel, New Lenox; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Three brothers preceded her in death.
A realtor, she worked for the Ben Weinstein real estate agency. Prior to that, she worked for Hiram Walker & Sons distillery.
