20 Nov. 1759 William Sheffield, so signing his name, was a member of a jury assigned to lay off 2 acres of the land of Thomas Futral and Henry Hill on Hunting Quarter Swamp to be used for a grist mill.
April 13, 1764, John Futral of Northampton sold to William Shuffield of the same 54 acres "beginning at the burned Gum in the run of Patty's Delight, thence N. 45 E. 48 pole to William Shuffields Corner thence along his line.... Witnessed by John Wade, Joseph (+) Powell.
The prior purchases account for 384 acres in the area of Patty's Delight and are the last entries of William found in Northampton, particularly no sales of land. However this land was divided by some means to sons the older West, and Arthur of Northampton, NC.
