Delbert was born on August 5, 1933 in Woodward, Oklahoma the son of David Martin and Maxine Gwendolyn (Stoner) Poage and died January 27, 2012.
He was raised and attended school in Woodward. He married Zada F. Gann on September 2, 1953 in Woodward. While serving for the U.S. Army he lived in Woodward and Mineral Wells, TX. He was honorably discharged in May 1961 where he went on to work in the construction business. He moved to Enid shortly after where he began work for Crabbs Transport for over 39 years.
He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. He was a great advocate for kids where he participated in the Salvation Army Angel Christmas Trees for many years. He was a very kind, generous, and loving person and will forever be greatly missed by many.
He is survived by his wife Zada of the home; one daughter, Tracy Poage Thornton of Enid; two sons, Martin Poage of Newcastle, OK; Bryan Poage of Enid; six grandchildren, Shea Poage, Desiree Sessions, Braden Thornton, Jessica Thornton, Cody Poage, and Kevin Poage; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Hoffert of Woodward; Rena Bellows (Roscoe) of Atoka, TN; and one sister-in-law, Lilliana Poage of Yukon, OK.
Delbert is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Robert D. Poage.
