Mildred Pickersgill, 86, widow of Charles L. Pickersgill, died Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Rainey Hospice House. She was a daughter of the late Allen Franklin Kimbrell and the late Ida Dixon Kimbrell.

Born in Miami, FL, Mildred retired after 25 years of service from Homestead Junior High School. She was a member of the Widow's Club, Singles Club, and Quilting Club. She was a Girl Scout Leader and of the Baptist faith. Mildred was loved by many; her easy spirit and friendly disposition resulted in her never meeting a stranger.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; Esther Louise Stockton of Andrews, SC, Glenn Allen Pickersgill of Denver, NC and Linda Richards of Anderson, SC; one sister, Margaret Hall of Lake Toxaway, NC; her precious grandchildren, Michael Agnew, Ashley Daniels, John and James Richards, and Eric Pickersgill; and her loveable great-grandchildren, Ty Agnew, Colton Daniels and Elaina Daniels.

A memorial service to honor the wonderful life of Mildred will be held Saturday, April 28, 2012, at 11 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Her son-in-law, the Reverend Clint Stockton, will officiate. Prior to the funeral service, the family visitation will be held from 9:30 – 10:30 am.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Linda Richards, 225 McClure Road, and will meet for a reception at New Hope Methodist Church following the memorial service.

Flowers will be accepted and memorials may be made to Rainey Hospice House, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
