Evelyn Elizabeth Clayton, 88, was born in Chattanooga, Tenn, to Joseph and Bertha Marona. She continued to reside in Tennessee until her marriage to Emmett Clayton on March 30, 1946, and moving to Gadsden, Alabama, where she lived until her death. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed her life and family. Evelyn was a very artistic person and loved to decorate. Anyone who visited her home could tell that when they walked through the door. She was a member of the West Gadsden Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for over 50 years and loved to share her faith about her God, Jehovah. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Nell Jo Richie; her beloved husband of 60 years, Emmett Clayton; grandson, Paul Erik Clayton, whom she loved and cherished. She is survived by one son, 3 grandsons, and 10 great-grandchildren.
