Carol Mae was born on March 25, 1943, in New Ulm, MN. She was the daughter of Fredrick William and Margaret Evelyn (Totman) Johnson. Carol Mae was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith, as a youth in Winthrop. She attended and graduated from Winthrop High School in 1961
Carol was united in marriage with Tom Freeman in Sioux Falls, SD in 1976. The couple resided in Gaylord.
During her life, Carol mae held employment as a manager of several retail stores. She also worked as a hospice volunteer and as a home health aide for over 15 years.
Carol Mae was a member of the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove Ca. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed collecting tea pots and Elvis memorabilia along with going to garage sales. She will always be remembered for her giving personality.
