Elvie Marie Aydell, 89, was born on August, 15, 1923 and passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 5, 2013 while residing in Gonzales Healthcare Nursing Home. She was a lifelong native and resident of French Settlement where she was born, grew up, married and raised her family. She was married to Ellis "Pete" Aydell for 55 years and they raised four sons together. Many fond memories were made with her while working the fields, preparing home processed foods and enjoying family, friends and good food on the back kitchen of her house. She also served lots of people great food from the kitchen of Tee-Pete's Restaurant for 22 plus years.
Ms. Aydell is survived by son, David Aydell; her Grandchildren, David "Putt" Aydell, Kerry "Boo" Aydell, Tessa Aydell and Marc Aydell and wife Dawn. Great-grandchildren, Bradley Aydell, Katie Miller, Zachary Aydell, Claire Aydell and Gabrielle Lucia; And daughter in law Debbie Ledoux and husband Mark. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alphage & Armethea Aydell; husband, Ellis "Pete" Aydell; sons, Harry Aydell, Gary "Tee-Pete" Aydell, and Randy Aydell.
Funeral Services were held on Thursday, March 7, 2013 with visitation from 9 am to 12 noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church, French Settlement.
Mass of Christian Burial will follow officiated by Father Jason Palermo and Deacon Jimmy Little. Entombment to follow in the church mausoleum.
