At Ohio Ballet he was Director of Marketing for seven years during the height of their national recognition under the directorship of Heinz Poll. In his work with homeless youth, he worked at Covenant House in NYC and assisted in opening Centers in Houston and Guatemala. His volunteer work was extensive and included work with the Hartville Migrant Workers, homeless youth, and raising funds for cancer in a 100-mile bike marathon in Arizona.
Pete lived every moment of this life to the fullest including the past two years as he battled cancer. He was a remarkable person who was as comfortable rolling pasta as he was developing management tools. Pete's passions included cycling, delectable food, entertaining, and the Arts. He ws an enthusiastic Washington Nationals fan and an exceptional host. A dinner party at his home was always a special occasion.
An example of his sense of adventure and curiosity was a life-long quest to view all 35 works of the Dutch painter, Vermeer. This took him on bike trips to Ireland and throughout Europe.
Well-traveled, one of his favorite destinations was Venice, Italy.
Holding Pete forever in their hearts are his mother, Margaret Petrlich; sister Denise (Greg) Kirkman; niece, Beth Ann (Mike) Morrison, and many relatives and friends. Words could never capture his spirit, his kindness, or his impact on anyone he met.
