Dianne Kaye (Forthun) Peterson was born June 9, 1949 in Williston, ND the daughter of Stanley and Borgny (Heller)Forthun. She was raised in the Nazarene faith on the family farm near Alexander. She graduated from Alexander High School in 1967.
On September 28, 1974 Dianne was united in marriage to Raymond Peterson. They made their home in Williston where they raised four children. Dianne had recently moved to Bismarck and was excited to start a new chapter in her life.
Dianne had many jobs throughout her life. Many people will remember her from McDonald's and Walmart. She will also be remembered by the many children she helped take care of through the years. She touched many lives.
In recent years Dianne spent her time walking, reading,cross stitching, working puzzles and crocheting. Most importantly, she was very active in the lives of her children and grandchildren.
Dianne will be dearly missed and never forgotten by the family she leaves behind; children, Jennifer (Keith) Brodersen Bismarck, Travis (Angela) Peterson Williston, Jodi Peterson Williston, Marn Thomson Bismarck; grandchildren, Skylar and Brooke Brodersen, Ian and Kodee Peterson, Emily Marquardt and Amari Thomson; brothers and sisters, John (Carrie) Forthun Williston, Nancy (Wayne) Lervik Crosby, Thomas (Pru) Forthun Reno, NV, Larry (Theresa) Forthun Alexander, Mark (Lenore) Forthun Williston and Judy (Wade)Smith Froid, MT; brother-in-law, Gary Nelson; former husband and lifelong friend, Raymond Peterson Williston; many nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.
Dianne will be remembered for her love, caring, kindness, generosity, laughter, and for her last gifts of life. She was able to be an organ donor and has given four different families new hope.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Borgny; one sister, Beverly Nelson; and one nephew, Nathan Lervick who are waiting to welcome her home.
