By Rachel Greco
Lansing State Journal

CHARLOTTE — A 22-year old woman has been arrested this morning after Charlotte police say she struck and killed a pedestrian on Lansing Road, north of Packard Highway.

According to Charlotte Police Chief Lisa Sherman, police do believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, which occurred around 2:21 a.m.

Sherman said the pedestrian, 26-year-old Ronald Hoffman of Potterville, was pronounced dead at the scene. Sherman said the driver, whose name isn't being released until she is arraigned on charges, indicated she had struck the man when police arrived on the scene.

Investigators from both the Charlotte Police Department and the Eaton County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash – and Sherman said it remains under investigation.
