GAINESBORO -- Funeral services for Jimmy Bowles, 62, of Gainesboro, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3, at Gainesboro First United Methodist Church. The family has chosen cremation.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 2, at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home; and from 10 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday, at the church.

Mr. Bowles died on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, in Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville.

He was born on Aug. 11, 1944, in Memphis, to the late James Corum and Janey Denton Bowles.

He was a retired meat cutter and a member of the United Methodist Church. Mr. Boles served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War Era.

His family includes his wife, Kathryn Jane Shropshire Bowles of Gainesboro; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Beth and Wayne Hall of Gallatin, Jennifer and Steve Gardner of San Bernardino, Calif., JoJo and Clint Young of Gainesboro, Christy Brewington of Granville, and Mimi Toomey of Monticello, Utah; and 10 grandchildren, Scott, Chantelle and Jennifer Toomey, Justin and Caleb Hall, Haley Link, Kit Young, Courtney and Corey Gardner, and Brandon Boop.

Memorial donations may be made to Gainesboro First United Methodist Church or the Tennessee Organ Donor Services.

Rev. Russ Cain will officiate at the services.
