Roy E. Darling, 57, of East Main Street, Johnstown, died Saturday at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam after a brief illness.
Born July 20, 1940 in Gloversville, he was the son of Ralph E. and Gladys Warner Darling and was a lifelong area resident.
He was employed at Argotsingers Poultry Farm many years ago and at C.G. Tanner and Son in Gloversville for 21 years before retiring.
Mr. Darling was a member of The Redmen's Club of Johnstown and was a former member of the Broadalbin Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother, of Gloversville, survivors include a daughter, Vicki L. Winn of Northville; two brothers, Robert J. Darling of Gloversville and James D. Darling of Johnstown; two grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Walrath & Bushouer Funeral Home Inc., 51 Fremont St., Gloversville. Burial will be in Broadalbin Rural Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
