Edward "Bud" John Wagner of 163 Clinton St. went to be with his Lord Wednesday (April 3, 2012) in his home.

Born March 11, 1922, in Warsaw, he was a son of William and Adda (Willard) Wagner, but raised by a step-mother, Mildred Lydia Wagner.

Bud graduated from Salamanca High School in 1941 and then served for three-and-a-half years in the U.S. Air Force from 1942 to 1946.

He worked at Jamestown Table Factory as a band sawer for 30 years until it burned down. He then worked at Fancher Chair in Falconer until his retirement in 1987.

He was a member and deacon of The House of Prayer and AARP.

He loved playing his harmonica for others, doing wood crafting, witnessing for his Lord, reading and enjoying the outdoors.

Surviving besides his wife of 65 years are a daughter, grandson, granddaughter, a great grand daughter and many nieces and nephews, and a special friend of the family.

He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Doris Millholen; a brother, William; and a half-brother, Elmer Jones.

Bud donated his body to the University of Buffalo Medical School, so there was no visitation. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the House of Prayer on Highland Avenue in Salamanca. The Rev. Robert Goode officiated.

In lieu of flowers, memorial were requested to be made to The House of Prayer, the Salamanca Historical Society Museum, the Cornerstone Free Church Medical Loan Closet at 718 Brookview Ave. in Olean, or a charity of the donor's choice.
