Timothy Bacon was baptized on April 14, 1751, in Natick, Massachusetts, the son of Lt. John and Abigail (Sawin) Bacon of Needham. Timothy Bacon, along with his brothers John and Moses, were part of the Needham West Company of militia commanded by Capt. Aaron Smith and answered the alarm of April 19, 1775 for the Battle of Lexington and Concord. Timothy's father, Minute Man Lt. John Bacon, was killed in Menotomy on April 19, 1775. On April 4, 1776, Timothy Bacon married Sybil (or Sybbel) Parker, the daughter of Jacob and Lydia (Park) Parker, in Needham.
Timothy Bacon served two more terms in the militia, serving six months in 1776 in Capt. Chamberlain's company in Col. In 1837 Timothy's widow Sybil Bacon applied for a Revolutionary War widow's pension in Denmark, Lewis County, New York, where their son Isaac was also living. Isaac signed a declaration in support of his mother's pension confirming the death of his father. Neither Sybil nor Isaac's declaration mention where Timothy died. To date Timothy Bacon's grave, nor the cemetery where he was buried, has been identified although he likely was buried in or near Lowville, New York.
