Birth: Feb. 18, 1914, USA
Death: Jan. 8, 2003
Lake Geneva

Wisconsin, USA

Mamie was the daughter of Frank Panzica 18821972 & Crocifissa "Rose" Viola 1886 1936. Her mother and father were first generation imigrants from Italy. They settled in Pennsylvania to Chester, West Virginia to Warren, Ohio where Dominana "Mamie" Panzica was born and ending up in Chicago where her father owned an Italian grocery store on the Corner of Emerald and 26th Street. She had 4 older brothers, all with nick names Angelo "King Fish", Peter "Nag", Dominick, Tony "Greaser" that called my Grandmother, Mamie "Slim", because she had a few extra pounds. As she explained it with all those boys in the house they would come home in the evening and eat everything, so she tried to get to it first. She went to school and worked after school in her father's store and watched over her younger sister Anna Marie. A gentleman, my Grandfather Salvatore Morici asked her father if he could court her. He agreed, Salvatore took her to a picture show, her mother had to come with and sit in between them. They did evenually get married in a triple wedding ceremony. They shared their vows with her brother Angelo Panzica & Phyllis Blasco and with her mother & father, Frank & Rose Panzica renewing their vows on their 25th Wedding Anniversary on July 27, 1931. They were happily married sharing 71 Wedding Anniversaries together. They had two Children, Anna M. Morici and Peter S. Morici. They shared their love and knowledge with all their grandchildren and great grandchildren. She made the best Italian Cookies & don't forget those apple and lemon meringue pies. She loved to play cards and I don't think she ever missed watching a cubs game.
