Nita had a zest for life and friends and enjoyed volunteering at the zoo and various soup kitchens. She was an excellent cook and a tireless worker. She is missed dearly.
Nita was very proud of her heritage and was quick to point out that she was Ukranian not Russian.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Byrnes.
Nita is survived by her daughter, Kathy and Jim Richardson, of Plano, TX; sons, Jim and Maggie Byrnes and Regan and Pat Byrnes; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road where visitation will be held from 10-11:30 a.m.
