Allen Wagley Jr., 82, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., passed away Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, in Prescott Valley. He was born May 6, 1927, to Allen and Pearl Wagley Sr. in Sugar Town, La., Beareguard Parish.

He worked most of his life as an oil field contractor and welder residing in Northern Europe, Alaska and several different states in the U.S.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Coy and Charlie Wagley; sister Evelyn Wagley; his longtime favorite nephew and best friend, Willard Wagley; and his two dogs, Flash and Hot Shot.


He is survived by his wife Andrea of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; sons Mark (Christy) Wagley of Frankston, Texas, and Damon (Marisa) Wagley of Austin, Texas; daughters Shelia (Jesse) Smith of Frankston, Texas, Genise (Dickie) Dansby of Frankston, Texas, and Karen (Denis) Waugh of Corsicana, Texas; stepsons Robert Kennedy of Frankston, Texas, Paul Buthley of Aberdeen, Scotland, Maro (April) Chavez of Cameron, Texas, and Samuel and Jose Chavez of San Jacinto, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and his two dogs, Henry and Pee Wee.

Visitation was Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, at Sunrise Funeral Home, 8167 E. Highway 69, Prescott Valley, Ariz. A celebration of his life will be noon Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009 at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Heritage Memorial Park Cemetery Dewey, Ariz.
