SALEM - Irene Lorraine Banks passed away on October 23, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born April 1, 1924 in Downers Grove, Illinois to Alexander Kolski and Stanislawa "Stella" Kotecka. She married Joseph "Joe" Banks on May 19, 1942 in San Antonio, Texas. She worked as a bookkeeper at the Doctors Clinic for many years and enjoyed her children, her many friends, traveling and finding new and interesting places to eat.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Joe and John, sisters; Bernice and Jean, husband Joe in 1988, partners, John and Al and daughter Sandra Finney in 2008.
She leaves behind her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Nancy Banks, granddaughter Melissa Banks, grandson Craig Banks (McEldowney), grandson Troy Hudson and his wife Tricia and two great-grandchildren, Jackie and Brandon Hudson along with many extended family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to join us for a Celebration of Life dinner on Saturday, November 16th from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Clubhouse at Surfwood Mobile Park (3044 Surfwood Dr. NE, Salem.)
