Hattie Louise Brewington was born to Lee Roy Brewington and Edna Irene Gaddis Brewington on 14 November 1918 at Kingman, Clinton, Ohio. She was the youngest of 8 children.

1920 census shows Hattie L Brewington (age 2 ˝ ) living in Chester, Clinton, Ohio with her father Leroy R (age 38), mother Irene (age 36), and her siblings Anna (17), Ruth (age 16), Donald (age 14), Wayne (age 12), Laura B (age 9) and Cristina (age 7). The census shows her father was working as a farmer and her brother Donald was working as a farm laborer.

1930 census shows Hattie Brewington (age 11) living in Twin, Darke, Ohio with her mother Irene Brewington (age 45), and her brother (Wayne (age 21), her sister-in-law Catherine (age 19) and her sister Christina (age 17). The census lists her mother as divorced and working as a Practical Nurse, her brother Wayne was working in a factory as a Coil Dipper and her sister Christina was working in a Variety Store as a Clerk.

Louise was married twice. Her first marriage was to Mr. Register and they had two daughters.

Louise moved to San Diego sometime around 1943, to be with her fiancé who was in the Navy and stationed in San Diego, San Diego, California during WWII.

On 2 June 1944, she married her sweetie, Harry Doyle Leach in San Diego, San Diego, California. Together Harry and Louise had four living children and one stillborn child.

In 1960, Harry built a home and moved his family to Vista, San Diego, California. Louise lived in Vista until she passed away in her home in 1996.

Hattie Louise went by "Louise" and did not like the name "Hattie". Louise was a Meat Wrapper and worked for Big Bear Foods in Del Mar and Escondido, San Diego, California.

Louise was a member of the Oceanside Rebecca's Lodge, and had the nick-name of "Big Louise". Her daughter, also Louise, was given the nick-name of "Little Louise".

Louise quietly passed away in her home in Vista, San Diego, California. Louise was buried at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Oceanside, San Diego, California, next to her beloved husband, Harry Doyle Leach.
