Funeral Held Sunday
For Hammon Pioneer
Funeral services for John W. Shepard, 67-year-old pioneer Roger Mills county resident, were held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Baptist church in Hammon with Rev. Isaacs officiating.
Mr. Shepard died at his farm home four miles west of Hammon Friday, Nov. 20. He was born March 18, 1869, in Georgia and moved to Roger Mills county in 1900.
He is survived by his eight children, Mrs. Sally Duckworth, Devine, Texas; V. L. Shepard, New Orleans; Virgil Shepard, Hammon; John W. Shepard, Hammon; Richard Shepard, Catonsville, Md.; Roy Shepard, Baltimore, Md.; Charlie Shepard, Portales, N. M.; Mrs. Effie Robinson, Edenburg, Texas; Robert Shepard, Hammon.
Burial was in the Barker cemetery northwest of Hammon.
