ENID — Memorial service for Vance Devareaux, 74, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2011, at Anderson - Burris Chapel with Pas-tor Steve Meier officiating. Cre-mation arrangements are by Anderson - Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.
Vance was born Dec. 7, 1936, in Denver, Colo., to Gary and Kathryn Devareaux and died Sunday, July 17, 2011, in Enid.
He grew up in Denver and Lamar, Mo.
Vance served in the U.S. Air Force and graduated from college in Houston, Texas.
On Oct. 4, 1968, he married Saundra Melton in Odessa, Texas.
He served as a Southern Baptist minister in Hereford, Texas, and was in charge of the jail ministry. He was CEO of Arrowhead Mills.
Vance and Saundra moved to Enid in 1999. He enjoyed reading and watching football.
Vance was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Saundra on Oct. 12, 2009.
He is survived by two daughters, Rena Chaplin of Enid and Kathryn Devareaux of Lubbock, Texas; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
