Martha Ham, daughter of Andrew and Nancy Ham, was born in the vicinity of Libertyville, Mo., on March 11, 1848, and died April 10, 1932, at the age of 84 years and one month, having spent her entire life in the county in which she was born.
In the year 1868, she was united in marriage to Henry White. To this union eight children were born, five sons and three daughters. Two of the sons preceded her in death. She is survived by her aged husband, three sons, Will, Bert, and Eli, of near Mine La Motte, and three daughters, Miss Fannie, who lived with and cared for her mother, Mrs. J.H. Mabery and Mrs. Dennis Green, both of Bonne Terre; 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. White was a member of The Church of Christ. Her many years of illness prevented her attending the public worship regularly as was her heart's desire to do.
The funeral was conducted at the Libertyville Christian Church by L.E. Ketcherside, of Bonne Terre and interment was made in the Libertyville Cemetery. The Benham Undertaking Company, of Bonne Terre was in charge.
