Melissa E Bassett, Age 18 years old, of New Smyrna Beach, a student at Daytona State College, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at the Winter Park Memorial Hospital from Cystic Fibrosis.
Melissa was born in Daytona Beach and had been a lifelong resident of the area. She was a 2010 graduate of New Smyrna Beach High School and she enjoyed photography, music, drama and art.
Survivors include her parents, Bryan P. and Julie K. Bassett; and two sisters, Brynn and Jordan Bassett, all of New Smyrna Beach; her paternal grandmother, Eileen Bassett of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and her maternal grandmother, Betty Lubke of Pipestone, Minnesota.
Cremation will be by Dudley Crematory, New Smyrna Beach. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Florida Chapter, Central Florida Office, Winter Park.
