Death of an Aged Juniata Resident

Hugh Dougherty died at his residence, Third avenue and Bridge Street, Juniata, on Saturday at 7 p.m., from a complication of diseases. The deceased was born in West Virginia, May 26, 1812, and consequently had attaned the advanced age of 83 years. When a boy, he moved with his mother to Bedford County, where he resided until he became 21 years of age, when he came to Blair County, where he has resided since.
August 31, 1837, he was united in marriage to Miss Susanna Smith, who together with three children, survives him. They are: Mrs. Linnie M. Hunt and Elisha B. Dougherty, of Juniata, and Mrs. Clara M. Kemberling, of Blair Furnace. The deceased had been a devout member of the Methodist Episcopal church for over sixty years. The funeral will take place from his late residence this afternoon at 2 o'clock; interment in Asbury cemetery.
