Born in Canada, in Canada in 1849-1850 was raised in an Orphange. On 2-2-1865 he joined the 13th Maryland infantry and served until 5-30-1865. He marries Lydia Jones in Sans bois,Oklahoma,Indian territory in 1880. Five children out of eight live to become his history.

Hugh Kelley Dies
Hugh Kelley, who for the past two years has suffered from a stroke of paralysis, died at his home northeast of town Sunday. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon, Rev. H.L. Shelton of Mountain View preaching the sermon. American Legion boys acted as pall bearers. Interment was made in the Carnegie cemetery.
Mr. Kelley was born in Canada in 1850. He was one of the early settlers in Indian territory. The family has lived here for the past twelve years, Mr. Kelley taking his place among the substantial farmers of the community. He served in the Union army thru the Civil war.
A wife and five children are left to mourn his death.
