Earnest M. Kaster, 84, of Arlington, died Tuesday in Rush Memorial Hospital after a year's failing health. He had lived in the Rowland Nursing Home since February of 1969.
Mr. Kaster farmed in Rush and Shelby Counties most of his life. He was a member of the United Brethren Church in Rushville and a 50 year member of the IOOF Lodge at Arlington.
A native of Rush County, he was born August 13, 1887, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Kaster, and was married to Ona McMichael, who died in March of 1971.
Only survivors are nieces, nephews and cousins.
Hampton Mortuary at Carthage is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Arlington East Hill Cemetery.
