Services for Christina Barrera, 52, of Roswell, New Mexico will be at St. Stephen's Anglican Church, 101 S. Lea, Roswell, on Saturday, August 23, 2014, at 11 a.m.

She was born on August 2, 1962 in San Rafael, New Mexico to Teodoro and Virginia Gurule Blea.

Christina passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 in Roswell.

She was a Grants High School graduate, Grants, New Mexico.

Christina and Hector Barrera were married in 1979 and were inseparable. They truly cared foe each other through the good and bad; they never faltered and were always by each other's side.

Christina worked at Levi Strauss in Roswell for many years until it closed. She loved animals, especially horses. Christina loved to laugh, sing, and dance. Christina always dressed and looked pretty with her long Western skirts.

She loved playing and joking with her nieces and nephews. Christina and her mother-in-law shared a close relationship; they enjoyed each other's company, laughing together and also going to church on Sundays.

Christina fought a long battle with MS; she was small in size but most certainly strong in faith and heart.

Christina, you were an angle that showed us how strong we should be. May you finally rest in peace.

A very special and heartfelt "thank you" to Gentiva/Vista Care Hospice and all the staff and volunteers who helped take care of her; she was blessed by all of you. A special "thank you" to her niece, Dolores Blea. She helped take care of her auntie Tina for many years.

Christina was preceded in death by her mother: Virginia Gurule Blea, of San Rafael.

She is survived by her spouse: Hector Barrera, of Roswell; her father: Teodoro Blea, of San Rafael; her brothers: Wilfred Blea and wife, Angela, of San Rafael, Manuel Blea and wife, Josie,of San Rafael; and Dorphy Blea and wife Trinnie, of Milan, New Mexico; her in-lawas: Francisco and Benita Barrera, of Roswell; nieces: Dolores Blea, Amanda Blea, Rachael Blea, Jessica Blea, Shyla Ervin, Natalie Ervin, and Ciara Barrera; nephews: Gavino Blea, Manuel "Buddy" Blea, Rick Medina, Fabian Medina, Chris Medina, Colton Barrera, and Hunter Ervin; and great-nephew, Gabriel Blea.
