"VAN GORDEN RITES WILL BE ON FRIDAY.

Emery Sherman Van Gorden of 4261 El Camino Real, Palo Alto, died yesterday [August 30] afternoon at Oak Knoll Hospital in Oakland after a long illness. He was 42.

Friends are invited to attend funeral services at 8 p.m. Friday [September 2] at the Chapel of Roller & Hapgood, corner of University Ave. and Cowper St. in Palo Alto. Services will be under the auspices of Peninsula Chapter 47 D.A.V., of which Mr. Van Gorden was a member. Interment will be private.

Mr. Van Gorden is survived by his wife, Pearl Van Gorden, of Palo Alto, and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Van Gorden. He was a native of Cambria, and a member of the D.A.V. and Palo Alto Post 375, American Legion." END
