Joe Limerick Bohannon, 88, passed away November 9, 2019, at his residence under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice and his loving family.

He was born June 4, 1931, in Screven County to Robert Burns "Bo" and Louise Limerick Bohannon.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, was a Mason and a former Screven County Commissioner.

He was retired from DuPont at the Savannah River Plant.

Preceded in death by his wife, Miriam Glisson Bohannon; a son, Stephen Franklin Bohannon; a son-in-law, Thomas Ansley; parents; and brother, Billy Bohannon.

Survived by his daughters, Marcheta (Cameron) Sherer and Lori B. Ansley; son Joe Burns (Sylvia) Bohannon; brother, Brian (Sherry) Bohannon; Grandchildren, Christi and Matt Loflin, Ashley and Sam Colson, Jamie B. and Stephen Matthews, Jason and Sydney Skinner, and Kaitlyn Skinner; 11 Step-Grandchildren; 8 Great-Grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be held November 12, 2019 in the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chad Wall officiating. Burial will be in the Bascom Cemetery on Waynesboro Highway, Sylvania.

Pallbearers will be: Al Lambert, Ricky Hill, Joe Thompson, Jimmy Thompson, David Beasley and Tommy Griffin.
