He enlisted as a Private.
David M Snyder was a druggist in Cynthiana, KY and died between the 1880 census and Dec 1900, when he was referred to as "the late David M Snyder" in an article in Outing magazine on fishing reels.
He was the son of George W. Snyder, noted Paris, KY silversmith and watchmaker noted for his invention of the "Kentucky (fishing) Reel"
