Roberta Lea Vaughan Baker, 72, of Glencoe, Okla. died after a brief battle with cancer on Sept. 4, 2011 in Oklahoma City, Okla. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at Crosspointe Church 1807 N. Jardot in Stillwater, Okla. at 10:30 a.m. with Dr. Norman Richmond officiating.
Roberta was born June 13, 1939 to J.P. and Frieda Vaughan in Harmon, Okla. She graduated from Glencoe High School. She married Jerry Baker of Glencoe, Okla., on June 4, 1959. This union produced two sons. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church and a Sunday School teacher there for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Roberta's greatest joy was her family.
Roberta is predeceased by her parents and one brother J.R. Vaughan. She is survived by her husband of 52 years Jerry; sons Gary and wife Robin of Ripley, Okla., and Kerry and wife Janice of Perkins; two sisters, Linda and husband James Lease of San Angelo, Texas, and Glenda Vaughan of Glencoe, Okla. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and many neices, nephews, and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Crosspointe Church Children's Playground Fund.
