HARLEY H. SHAMBLIN
RETIRED, IS DEAD AT 71
Harley H. Shamblin, 71, a retired merchant, died yesterday morning at his home on Sissonville Road near Charleston.
Mr. Shamblin, a native of Kenna, Jackson County, had lived in Kanawha County for 35 years. He operated a general store on Washington Street prior to his retirement in 1921. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nora Shamblin, a daughter, Mrs. Arnold Cunningham, Charleston, two sons, Edward of Sissonville, and Arrow of Sissonville Road, two sisters, Mrs. Mada Ellis and Mrs. Virgie Silman, both of Charleston, a brother, E. L. Shamblin, Pocatalico, and three grandchildren, one of whom, Herbert Cunningham, is with the 8th Army in Japan and one great grandchild. The body was taken from the Noble-Long mortuary to the residence last night.
The body was taken to the Shepherd Chapel Methodist Church at 1 p.m. on August 31 where the service was held at 2 p.m. Rev Hobson D. Fisher was the officiating minister.
