Kit's obituary published in the Marin Independent Journal, dated 09 September 2005 ~

"After fighting a two year battle against metastatic lung cancer, Kit passed away on September 4th, 2005 at his residence in Cotati, surrounded by loved ones. Kit was born in Connellsville, PA on February 22nd, 1948, and was raised in Vacaville, CA where he graduated from Vacaville Union High School in 1966. He chose music as his career which was interrupted by a tour of duty in Vietnam where he was a medic with the 12th Evac Hospital in Cu Chi. He married Nancy Fox, his high school sweetheart in 1971 and resumed work with music in Napa. They relocated to the L.A. area where he furthered his music career. He came to Petaluma in 1981 and changed careers to sales management while still playing drums with rock, blues, swing, or jazz bands. He formed many great friendships at Marin General Hospital where he was a radiology clerk from 1999 until he passed away.

In addition to his love of music, Kit was passionate about racing his Porsche, riding his bicycle and raising Great Danes. He will be remembered by the Porsche Club of America, Redwood Region; Santa Rosa Cycling Club; Petaluma Wheelmen Cycling Club; the Great Dane Club of Northern California. and several local musicians.

Kit was preceded in death by his mother Linna Gerold of Florida and is survived by his loving wife Nancy; his sister Jody Herod and his father Carson Jr. "Pete". He was very close to his in-laws Steve, Janet, and Brendan Mullaney, Karen, Bob, Mia, Chris, Jim, and Sean Gradillas; and Lee and Jo Ann Fox.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, September. 24th, 2005 at Hermann Sons Hall, 860 Western Avenue, Petaluma, California. Please send donations to American Lung Assoc., Hospice of Marin or a favorite charity in Kit's name. Arrangements in the care of ADOBE CREEK FUNERAL HOME, 331 Lakeville Street, Petaluma, CA 94952."
