On Wednesday, October 19, 2011, Edith "Sugar" Benson was finished with her work here on earth and so was taken home to be with our Heavenly Father.
Sugar was born to Edith and Coleman Finley on March 14, 1918. She attended Media public schools. She met and married Oscar "Beck" Benson, Sr on October 12, 1935.; of this union were born 7 children.
She devoted her life to God and family. She work as a domestic and a caregiver. She was a member of Nativity BVM Church in Media, Nativity Seniors, Saturday Socialites and Women of Wisdom. She will be dearly missed by all.
Sugar leaves to cherish her memory, 6 sons Oscar, Jr.(Linda), Russell, Sr. (Jackie), Christopher (Charlette), Stephen (Stacey), adopted son Chuck Weems; one daughter Kathy; two daughter-in-laws Viola and Diane;29 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; 18 great great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Oscar, Sr."Beck"; four brothers, Bill (Margaret) Finley, Charles Finley, Thomas(Charlotte) Finley and Robert Finely; two sons, Jerome, Sr., and Franklin; two grandchildren Jerry Benson and Joanne Benson.
