Birth: 1837
Illinois, USA
Death: Nov. 2, 1909
Grangeville
Idaho County
Idaho, USA

I am quite sure that Louisa is buried in Prairie View Cemetery, in Grangeville, ID, but I just have not been able to absolutely prove it. There were 2 obits for her in the Grangeville newspaper, both of which failed to say where she was being buried. Her daughter Edna died a few years before she did and was buried in Prairie View. Edna has a large monument gravestone there. There are empty spaces around Edna's gravestone with no markers on them. I would think it quite unusual for Louisa to have been buried anywhere else but there by her daughter and her gravestone may have been destroyed by vandals many long years ago or some such thing, if she ever got a gravestone to begin with? The cemetery office does not have records that go back this far as when Louisa died. Their office, with all records, burned down a long time ago and the only, early, records the office has now is from walking through the cemetery taking names off of gravestones. Someone with no gravestone did not get added to their records. Sad. After Louisa died, her husband C. Thomas McKinzie moved to near Seattle, WA and died there later and was buried by himself in a cemetery in Seattle. His grave has no marker either but their office has him in their records. Following are an obit and funeral notice from two Idaho newspapers, one of which spelled her last name wrong.

Died.
Louise (Bell) McKinzie, wife of Caswell T. McKinzie, died at her home in Grangeville, Tuesday, Nov. 2nd, in her 74th year.
Deceased had been sick but a short time with pneumonia, but at her age was an easy victim to the disease. She was a native of Illinois, where she was born Feb. 18th, 1836. She crossed the plains in 1853 to Oregon City with her parents, and was married to Mr. McKinzie in 1862, in Portland, coming to Grangeville in 1896 where they have since lived.
The funeral will take place at 2 o'clock Thursday from the Christian church in this city, of which organization Mrs. McKinzie was a member for sixty years. Rev. C.T. McDonald will preach the sermon and Undertaker W.E. Graham will conduct the funeral.
