Files on Ancestry.com claim that Heman was born in Zeno, Madison Co., OH. There is no Zeno in Madison Co., OH. I don't know if there USED to be but there isn't one now. There is a Zeno in Muskingam Co., OH. Muskingum Co. and Madison Co. are quite a ways apart. I do not know if Muskingum Co. is for sure the right place of birth for Heman. That is another maybe.
Files on Ancestry.com also claim that Heman's first wife, Cynthia, died in CA. Heman and Cynthia were together on the 1860 census in or near Silverton, Marion Co., OR.
Heman and his second wife, Ann Duncan Geer, had two children together, Judd and Blaine.
