|Death: ||Aug., 1908|
Owingsville-Outlook published Thursday Sept 3, 1908
"Mrs. Maria Burns died Saturday morning at 6:30 o'clock , after lingering a long time with consumption. She craved to get well, but toward the last she suffered so much she was perfectly resigned to die. Mrs. Burns had been a widow for eleven years had had many trials and hardships in this life, but managed to keep her three children together and raised them to be grown men and women. She was a Christian lady and God will surely reward her. She was laid to rest in the Bailey burying ground Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
Mrs. George Cline was also buried at the same place and time. Both corpses were side by side near the graves while Elder Carpenter conducted the funeral service of both at the same time. A large concourse of friends attended the burials. The family have the sympathy of the community in their sad bereavement."
