Betty Ann Bennett, age 71, of Pittsburg, Ks, passed away at 2:46 p.m. on Thursday October 21, 2010, at her home, following a long battle with cancer.

Betty was born on July 10, 1939 in West Mineral, Ks., the daughter of the late Leonard P. and Mary A. (DeBello) Carlini.

She has been a lifetime area resident and worked at Barlo's Idle Hour as a food processing cook until she retired in 2008.

She married Fred D. Bennett on July 8, 1973 in Miami, Ok., he survives.

Additional survivors include three daughters; Terri Bunney of Osawatomie, Ks., Cindi Smith and her husband Ken of Franklin, Ks., DeeDee LeFever and her husband Will of Scammon, Ks., one son; Robert Mayberry and his wife Kim of Hillsboro, Mo., four sisters, Mary McNeil of Corona, Ks., June Ilcewicz of Joliet, Il., Violet Schmidt of Arma, Ks. and Lena Carlini of Arma, Ks., fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Cathy Richter, her brother, Robert DeSharlo and two sisters, Christina Gibson and Rose Gobetz.

Betty is to be taken for cremation with private memorial services to be held at a later date.

BAXTER SPRINGS - Cathy Marie Richter, 45, of Baxter Springs, died Thursday, March 31, 2005 at her home in Baxter Springs.

She was born Aug. 21, 1959 in Girard, to Floyd G. and Betty (Carlini) Mayberry.

She had lived in Baxter Springs for the past 26 years.

She married Jroy Richter on June 23, 1979 in Pittsburg. He survives of the home.

Additional survivors include her mother, Betty Bennett of Pittsburg; sons, Chris and Bryan of the home; a brother, Robert Mayberry of Fenton, Mo.; sisters, Teri Bunney of Osawatomie, Cindi Leroy of Franklin, and Dee Dee LeFever of Scammon; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father on May 31, 1986.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday at the Baxter Cemetery in Baxter Springs with Dr. Kent Scott officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Derfelt Baxter Chapel Funeral Home.
