Born in Dolzig Germany. Given name was Wilhelm Hugo Eifert. Immigrated to the US through the Port of New York on April 10 1922 on the SS Clay. Father was Frederick Wilhelm Eifert and mother was Henreitte (Brauer) Eifert. He came to America with a cousin Walter Dremmal. Walter's brother paid for both of them to come and Wilhelm's brother picked them up and gave them a home to stay at. He came to the states and left a fiance behind hoping to make enough money to send for her and they would be married in the US. However when he left neither knew she was expecting thier child and she married someone else rather than give birth alone. He never saw her again. He was trying to make money and found it difficult and got in with the wrong crowd. He was arrested and spent almost twenty years in prison in Annamosa Iowa for robbing a car salesman of his car with another man. He got out of prison in 1942 and met his first and only wife, Effiemae Sickels Daringer. It was love at first site for her however she was married at the time. She wrote her husband that she wanted a divorce who was in Germany fighting the Germans in WW2. He said he was over there killing the Germans and she was here trying to marry them. The divorce was finally given and they were married. To this marraige were born four sons and one daughter. One son Gary Dean Eifert died in 1895 and is buried near his parents. He had a long hard life and did his best to lead a decent life and provide for his family. He was 18 years older than his wife. He was a man of few words probably because of his thick German accent. He died of a bleeding ulcer at age 89.
