Motor racing driver and hotel proprietor. Born in Farnborough, Hampshire, the only son of Brigadier General Archibald B Beauman CBE DSO (1938 ADC to the King) made his name racing sportscars and in 1954 raced a Connaught to 11th place in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. In Formula 2, he gained several 3rd and 4th places and a 2nd at Goodwood. In 1955 he competed in a works Jaguar at the Le Mans 24hr Race. He was fatally killed when he crashed his Connaught A-type F2 car in the Leinster Trophy race at Wicklow, Ireland, when his car left the road, struck a tree and caught fire.
